Test case on laptop:
Shutdown machine from session indicator, close laptop lid right after selecting 
Shutdown from pop up window.

What should happen:
 machine should complete shutdown process

What does happen:
 shutdown hangs until the laptop lid is re-opened, then it completes the 
shutdown
