could be caused by a conflict between Cinnamon and Gnome?
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
Release: 12.04
gnome-settings-daemon
Version: 3.4.2-0ubuntu0.6.4
I expected the screen resolution to change to the newly selected one, instead I
