Public bug reported:
gnome-control-center 1:2.17.90-0ubuntu4
gnome-network-preferences doesn't correctly modify /etc/network/interfaces when
"Static IP address" is selected from Connections -> eth0 -> Properties. static
keyword is missing from /etc/network/interfaces iface definition and this
results corrupt configuration which gnome-network-preferences is unable to fix.
Steps to reproduce:
1. select dhcp configuration for eth0 and close the dialog
2. open dialog again, select static configuration, fill the fields and close
the dialog
/etc/network/interfaces should be missing static keyword (but contains a
trailing whitespace in iface line). if static keyword is manually added,
gnome-network-preferences is able to parse the file correctly again
(otherwise it stays in roaming mode).
