Public bug reported:

gvfs had a problem once when a user had his home directory on nfs and
logging in from two different computers using the same home directory
gvfs got into a loop hammering the NFS server.

so ./patches/series:06_metadata_nfs.patch was added to temporary solve
this.

Is this really still a problem? it has been years and I'm tired having to
compile a local version without this patch.
Do fedora or suse have this ? they used to but I cant find it anymore.

** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
