For me, any character typed in upper case stops the editing, and instead, brings the focus back to the main window and starts a search- as-you-type search (with the upper case character as the first letter in the search text). I use Dvorak keybord layout.
The Right-Alt key does not do anything for me. Perhaps it's specific to the Polish keyboard layout you are using?
