Hello Sebastien: The circumstances under which it happens are very similar to the ones described in the first message of this bug report. I've made a fresh install of Xubuntu 14.04 in VirtualBox, installed Shotwell, downloaded a random image from the Internet, tried to rotate it and then the application has got frozen and crashed finally. For my tests I've used the image located here: http://www.freegreatpicture.com/files/26/15992 -grass-material.jpg .
Really it happens with every of the images that I've in my computer, no matter if they're of type JPEG or PNG. I've used that one only so that you can test it too. Right now I've installed Shotwell in my production Kubuntu 14.04 (a physical machine) and the error happens too.
