Public bug reported:

Nautilus apparently clears the keyboard buffer sometimes, e.g. when
moving to another directory. If the user is using type ahead rather
rapidly, as power users do, the first character typed while a nautilus
window is opened or while switching to a new folder is discarded.

Steps to reproduce

Type a few letters of a folder in the current directory, press <enter>
then immediately continue type the name of a folder underneath. If the
folder is opened for the first time in the session, and if the folder is
larger, opening the folder will take a tiny bit of time. However, the
first character the user was already typing may have been discarded.

Expected behaviour: user keystroke should not be discarded but be used
when nautilus is again ready to accept keyboard input.
