(In reply to Oded Arbel from comment #135) > Currently, Alon Bar-Lev's patch > (xorg-server-1.12.2-xkb-switch-on-release.patch) applies cleanly against > Xorg 1.17.2 from Fedora 22, but apparently has no effect
ּsorry, my bad - I was mistaken. Apparently the problem has something to do with GNOME's new layout switching handling. If I set "Modifiers-only switch to next source" to "Disabled" in the keyboard shortcut editor, then run setxkbmap -option grp:switch,grp:alt_shift_toggle Everything works fine with the patch. So, we actually have two problems now, with layout switching kicking on on release - both the broken XKB protocol and the broken GNOME handling of "modifier-only" layout switching. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/36812 Title: Keyboard layout change on hotkeys press instead of release and do not work well with shortcuts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/36812/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
