After running the latest update the following error occurs for me.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 gimp : Depends: libgimp2.0 (<= 2.9.5~71-z) but 2.9.5~79-0x21~ppa~5170980 is
installed
        Depends: gimp-data (<= 2.9.5~71-z) but 2.9.5~79-0x21~ppa~5170980 is
installed

Running -f returns

Preparing to unpack .../gimp_2.9.5~79-0x21~ppa~5170980_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking gimp (2.9.5~79-0x21~ppa~5170980) over (2.9.5~71-0x0~ppa~00faf17) ...

Installing the required versions kept me in a constant loop. It
requested libgimp2.0_2.9.5-71-0x0-ppa-00faf17 which requested
libgegl0.3.0. Installing libgegl0.3.0 it request version 1:0.3.6.20 of
libgegl, whose build files I could not find on launchpad of gimp-edge.
So I was pretty much stuck at that point. -f did not work and installing
different versions kept me in a loop so I did the following sudo apt-get
purge --remove gimp gimp-gmic gimp-plugin-registry and installed all the
packages which were on hold due to this issue (making sure Gimp does not
install again).

Then installing Gimp via apt install again worked fine.
