One tricky part about the GNOME Shell design is that there isn't really
room for another icon in the bottom row of the system status menu. See
the attached screenshot.

The second icon is a lock-rotation toggle switch for supported
convertible laptops with an orientation sensor.

(It's also been suggested that Log Out could be more prominent than
having to click your Name first.)
