@vanvugt, the "nomodeset" is removed. After disabling the integrated
graphics, I did not need it.

I just enabled the integrated graphics and got the same behavior as before.
- Select ubuntu from menu
- 2 monitors go dark, and 1 monitor display a gray background with nothing in 
it. 
All my monitors are connected to my graphics card.

After I disabled the integrated graphics, Linux was able to boot again.
