Public bug reported: Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 6.10, kernel ending 11, 32 bit system. gnome-session- properties is a program which is accessible through System->Preferences->Sessions. I try to autostart Firestarter and skype through this tool. I add paths to "Startup Programs" and I see them listed there. Then I close gnome-session-properties by clicking close button in the lower right corner and start it again and skype and firestarter are not there - they disapeared. After restarting machine those programs do not start automatically. I tried starting the tool through System->Preferences->Sessions and by typing sudo gnome-session-properties and the effect was the same. Firestarter and skype don't autostart and they don't appear in the tool after I restart it. Otherwise I can start Firestarter and skype from Applications menu and they work properly. The only thing that is different in my system than it was installed by default is that I have switched my SATA drives - when I was installing Ubuntu I had only one drive. Now I have two drives and the /physical/ drive on which linux is installed is B, windows drive /physical drive/ is A. This required changes to be made in GRUB config file described here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=474493&page=2 Regards, Rafal ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Tom Kravanja Status: Needs Info -- gnome-session-properties /Sessions tool/ doesn't allow to autostart programs https://beta.launchpad.net/bugs/87607 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
