I'm suffering this after this update too. It is the latest in a depressingly long list of Ubuntu updates that have ****ed up my system. You really *need* better testing of updates. If you can't improve the testing then there needs to be a way to roll-back the system to before an update.
Instead of the login screen I see the output of a log. Every item the log is [ OK ] except for [ .] A start job is running for Hold until boot process finishes up (28s / no limit)[ OK ] Started Show Plymouth BootScreen. The last entry is [ OK ] Started GNOME DisplayManager. Dispatcher Service....upport.hanges.pp link was shut down. lightdm is not working for me. Yes a login screen is displayed but after login the screen goes black for quite some time then the login screen reappears again. I am unable to use my system so this is a priority 1 bug for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1779476 Title: Ubuntu 18.04: gdm3 does not switch to graphics after update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1779476/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
