The same occurs with me, but there is no apport files into /var/crash,
even with the crash interception component enabled:

I'm using Ubuntu 18.10 and Brasero 3.12.1:
---
rodrigo@rf511:~$ uname -a
Linux rf511 4.15.0-29-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 17 15:39:52 UTC 2018
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
---

Is there other thing that I can help you figure out the problem?

The steps that I've been executed:
1) execute '$ brasero';
2) create 'Video project';
3) add one or more mp4 files to the list;
4) clicked 'Burn...';
5) in "Video Options' I've checked 'Aspect Ratio = 16:9' instead '4:3';
5.1) the options checked are: Video Options > Video format = Native format;
Video Options > Aspect ratio = 16:9; Burning speed = Maximum speed; Options >
Use burnproof; Options > Simulate before burning; Temporary files > "/tmp".
6) clicked 'Burn';
7) Brasero stops working.

Thanks.
