I booted dx6120 & a Lubuntu 18.10 test install;
sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
sudo apt install gnome-software (pulling in...)

searched & tried to install 'leafpad'

Notes:
I use my ISP's mirror (free of bandwidth quota) post-installation (apt-cache
policy..)
This install was made on recent QA-Test, and I've added & played with things a
little since then for testing. but its mostly original..
Same dx6120 box used by Xubuntu installs (/dev/sda? for xubuntu) but this
install is /dev/sdc1
