Dear Sebastien Bacher, Yes< I was using the Disks app from the Control Center. I used gParted and solved the problem. Unfortunately I have had to reinstall Ubuntu 3 times since then, so additional data is not available. (Always keep you data in a separate partition from the Linux partition. Then when you have to reinstall Linux, your data stays intact.)
I am currently using the leading edge Ubuntu MATE 18.10 since I am disappointed in the LTS ever since I found that the bug with duplex- printing in LibreOffice for HP printers was reported over 5 YEARS ago and no one has ever been assigned to fix it. They were considering removing the bug since it is so old and has never been fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797936 Title: Control Center->Disks cannot create ext4 partition on 5 TB external USB drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1797936/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
