It sounds like this bug is only affecting "Ubuntu on Wayland" and not "Ubuntu". Is that right?
The error message: Failed to set CRTC mode 1600x1200: No space left on device comes from mutter's eglnative (Wayland) backend, after calling drmModeSetCrtc. So "No space left on device" is an error from the kernel with no further explanation :( Can you please try logging into "Ubuntu" (the Xorg session), run 'xrandr' and send us the output? ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1808226 Title: rotated screen is blank To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1808226/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
