Restarting doesn't make songs show up reliably - I'm not sure what does. They seem to trickle in, first a few tracks from an album, then more, then the rest. The songs that won't import also won't play in rhythmbox from the context menu in nautilus, but they'll open in totem or play in the preview within nautilus itself.
