There are no errors in the journal / systemctl status for fprintd aside from a timeout.
There is no output when running 'sudo /usr/lib/fprintd/fprintd' manually; but the command eventually exits. This laptop does not have a fingerprint reader at all, and I have definitely never configured to authorize fingerprint-based unlocking of the system, so something should be figuring this out without launching (failing to launch) a separate fprintd daemon process. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1824855 Title: very long delay to display login prompt if there are a large number of uncleared desktop notifications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1824855/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
