Btw. is Mutter also in Kubuntu (KDE Plasma)? The reason I'm asking is that this issue is not just happening between Ubuntu host and Ubuntu guest (more details above). This is also happening between Kubuntu host and Kubuntu guest. If there is no mutter in Kubuntu then this bug can't be in Mutter.
