Thanks for the bug report. Your system log is certainly full of a lot of messages so it's easy to believe you might have high CPU too. But I can't tell what part of gnome-shell they came from.
Since so many bugs are caused by extensions, and nobody else is reporting this issue, the first thing we need to check is all: '[email protected]', 'dash-to- [email protected]', 'screenshot-window-sizer@gnome-shell- extensions.gcampax.github.com', '[email protected]' Please uninstall or just disable all of them in the Extensions app, then log out and log in again. If so then it might be this: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/3098 ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues #3098 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/3098 ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: performance ** Tags added: regression-release ** Also affects: gnome-shell via https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/3098 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1904819 Title: gnome-shell uses 100% cpu when screen blanked To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1904819/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
