[Where problems could occur] Since the fix touches on frame scheduling it could (and should) affect the smoothness of the entire screen. Although it is designed to only affect drivers that have `frame_clock->last_presentation_time_us == 0`, so that's the Nvidia proprietary driver and maybe some virtual machine configurations. [Other Info] - The upstream fix mutter!1826 is currently only in mutter 41, not in the - mutter 40 branch yet. + The upstream fix mutter!1826 is mutter 41.0 onward, and now in 40.6 + onward. So we can drop the patch as soon as 40.6 is ready.
