You have been subscribed to a public bug:
1) when opening the file picker/save prompt; it expands a bit on every
open, this behaviour occurs on all GTK3 apps I've tested, notably
Firefox and MS Edge (see video attached).
2) No option to have a preview pane in GTK3 apps file picker (eg. seeing
a thumbnail/preview of an image selected in a panel on the side), only
in GTK4 dialog windows.
