Public bug reported:

What I expect to happen:
After booting up Ubuntu I'd like to be able to just enable desktop zoom using
Alt+Super+8.

What actually happens:
When I enable desktop zoom after logging in to Ubuntu, it doesn't work.
Magnifier zooms in to the top-left portion of my desktop. The mouse pointer
disappears and I can no longer move my view around. I can still disable zoom,
so apparently it didn't crash. After I go to Settings->Accessibility and I
change some zoom settings and change them back, zoom works fine.

Some general information:
- My Magnifier settings:
  - Magnification: 2.00
  - Magnifier position:
    - Screen part: full screen
    - Magnifier cursor pushes contents around
  - I used gsettings to set caret-tracking and focus-tracking to 'none'
- Graphics card: NVidia GeForce GTX 970
- Graphics driver: Proprietary nvidia-driver-5.15
