OK. I couldn't find any crash file. When running with `systemctl start gdm3` after a boot without gdm3, it works. It only fails if run at boot (i.e. doing a stop/start with `systemctl enable gdm3`) - then it hangs indefinitely and leaves no obvious trace of a failure.
I'm about to upgrade to 22.10 though, so maybe we can close this bug as invalid? (I have the full journalctl logs of both a working lightdm and non- working gdm3 boots in case someone really wants to go through them) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1994993 Title: GDM won't start after update, systemctl start gdm just hangs indefinitely, using nvidia-drivers-520 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1994993/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
