To some people "lag" means higher latency without frame skips. The higher mouse latency in Wayland sessions is an unfortunate feature of Linux's atomic mode setting (as well as mutter's architecture). You might get better performance by disabling atomic mode setting in /etc/environment:
MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_KMS_MODE=simple and then reboot. To other people for which "lag" primarily means stutter and missed frames, indeed bug 1982560 sounds like the right place for that. ** Tags added: dt-6 ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => mutter (Ubuntu) ** Tags added: wayland wayland-session ** Tags added: performance ** Tags added: latency -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1997597 Title: Wayland session has laggy pointer tracking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1997597/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
