I disabled all extensions using gnome-extensions-app, logged out and
logged back in:

$ gsettings get org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions
@as []
andreas@nsnx2:~$ 

I don't know what `@as` is.


But I still see the same artifacts at the borders, and between monitors, as 
before.
