I installed mutter 44.1-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 23.04 and successfully completed the Test Case with the GNOME Classic, GNOME, Ubuntu, and Ubuntu on Xorg sessions.
We landed the gtk4 fix all the way to lunar-updates (and fully phased) that Andreas had mentioned earlier with the rectangle artifacts along the window borders so there is no regression there. While I tested mutter 44.1 with and without the corresponding gnome- shell 44.1 update and did not see any issue having a newer mutter than gnome-shell, I recommend that both be landed together. gnome-shell 44.1 depends on mutter 44.1 but I did not add breaks to enforce the upgrade the opposite direction also.
