** Description changed:
+ [ Impact ]
+
Mouse cursor stutters but only over GUI elements that are animated.
- You can notice this in Settings > Screen Display if the cursor moves
- over a list containing fade animations. But it doesn't stutter over non-
- animated elements or constantly-animated elements.
+ [ Test Plan ]
- Workaround:
+ 1. Open Settings > Screen Display.
+ 2. Move the cursor up/down over the list on the left side.
+ 3. Move the cursor up/down over a non-animated part of the window, or over
your desktop wallpaper.
+
+ Expect: No difference in cursor smoothness whether the window below is
+ animating in response to movement or not.
+
+ [ Where problems could occur ]
+
+ In frame scheduling, so the risk is more stuttering or screen freezes.
+
+ [ Workaround ]
Add this to /etc/environment:
CLUTTER_PAINT=disable-dynamic-max-render-time
