Binary package hint: gnome-app-install

After installing a fresh copy of ubuntu 7.04 Beta...

i get a "sorry Add/Remove.. crashed unexpectedly" messege when i run
gnome-app-install.
Similar thing happens when i click 'Update Manager' or the icon the notifies
about new updates,
or when ubuntu tries to download codec for an mp3 file i try to play (i
guess)...

When i do 'sudo update-manager' it seems to work! ,
(it starts and works i only get
"warning: could not initiate dbus
current dist not found in meta-release file"
but maybe its normal i dont know)

but when i do 'sudo gnome-app-install' it doesn't start and i get:

"Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/gnome-app-install", line 30, in <module>
    import gconf
ImportError: /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/gtk-2.0/gconf.so: invalid ELF
header"

....

thanx alot!
