GNOME Shell crashed and forced a session logout.
T
he journal log shows a fatal Clutter assertion failure, which caused a SIGABRT
(Signal 6).
Key error from the journal:
Clutter:ERROR:../clutter/clutter/clutter-actor.c:5353:clutter_actor_finalize:
assertion failed: (priv->grabs == NULL)
The stack trace confirms the crash is in libmutter-clutter-14.so.0 and
involves a window grab operation.
The crash appears to be triggered by underlying graphics driver
instability. The kernel log is filled with recurring errors from the
Intel i915 driver.
Key error from the kernel log:
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] ERROR LSPCON init failed on port D
It seems these i915 driver failures are putting the window manager into
an inconsistent state, which eventually leads to the Clutter assertion
failure.
