I've tried to disable all extensions (including Ubuntu ones), did not help. I'm also observing memory usage on my other box running Ubuntu 25.04 and gnome-shell 48.0-1ubuntu1.1 and the shared memory usage shown via free -h stays perfectly stable at 71Mi; in htop, VIRT memory usage of gnome-shell stays at 4207M and doesn't climb up.
Meanwhile, on my Ubuntu 25.10, 15 minutes have passed, and the shared memory usage climbed to 1.5G as shown by `free -h`, and gnome-shell is now using 5,7G of VIRT memory (and climbing). That suggests that gnome- shell is exhibiting a memory leak at the rate of ~2mb per second. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2122654 Title: gnome-shell uses increasingly lots of memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2122654/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
