That's the point: there seems to be a bug in the last MESA that prevents GTK to reliably know when a render process has been completed, and thus, sometimes, the "invalidate-contents" signal isn't generated by the GtkWidgetPaintable object, and that is what produces the timeout. Using the Cairo renderer does work, so yes, probably we should just re-enable all the tests and force the Cairo renderer in any GTK4 package for s390...
