Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS with Evolution 3.52.3, the message list and main
window fail to display properly when the laptop’s built-in display is
set to 225% fractional scaling.
Symptoms:
- Main pane appears blank/black.
- Terminal shows repeated warnings:
Gtk-WARNING **: drawing failure for widget 'GtkPaned' / 'GtkBox': invalid
value (typically too big) for the size of the input.
Environment:
- Multi-monitor setup (2 external monitors at 100%, laptop built-in display at
225%).
- Ubuntu session type: X11 (not Wayland).
- Bug resolves when scaling is adjusted from 225% → 200%.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set built-in display to 225% fractional scaling in GNOME Settings → Displays.
2. Launch Evolution.
3. Observe blank/black UI panes and GTK warnings.
4. Change scaling back to 200% → issue resolved.
Expected result:
Evolution should render correctly regardless of fractional scaling factor.
Actual result:
UI panes are not drawn at certain scaling factors (e.g. 225%).
