I encountered the same problem, I test two files (similar behaviour)
below is shown the output of one. I am on Ubuntu 24.04, Nautilus 46.4.

From the ffmpeg I understand that the cover picture is embedded as
picture in a video stream. The thumbnailer does produce the test.png but
segfaults then. The covers are correctly displayes with vlc player,
fre:ac, mpv mediaplayer, SMPlayer and MusicBrainz Picard. Something is
at odd with the processing performed in the background of Nautilus.
