I appear to be also getting segfaults when opening jpg, png, or webp.
The reported error is different: Plug-in crashed: "file-webp" (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gimp/3.0/plug-ins/file-webp/file-webp) The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side. I use gimp apx weekly, so I'm pretty sure that this is the result of a recent upgrade (not necessarily gimp upgrade). --- At least one other user is getting similar behavior; see https://askubuntu.com/questions/1564938/usr-lib-x86-64-linux-gnu- gimp-3-0-plug-ins-file-jpeg-file-jpeg-fatal-error-se --- I've spent a bunch of time trying to get a backtrace from gdb but have been unable. I'm happy to try with instructions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2144796 Title: fatal error: Segmentation fault with xcf file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/2144796/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
