It appears the bug status is somewhat accurate: Fixed in 25.10 and later. Not fixed in 24.04.
But it looks like the "fix" might actually have been an accidental workaround from a new bug in 25.10, mentioned in comments #128/#129. So it doesn't look like we have a clean solution that can be applied to 24.04 yet. Ubuntu 26.04 should also be free of the bug.
