Let me reorganise this bug into something focussed because you're the
second person to suggest that icons are now too small for high-res-low-
scaling-factor configurations.

BTW the truncated application names are covered by a separate bug 968213
and that did get worse in 26.04 because we ran out of time. But it is
already fixed in the upstream branch;
