Public bug reported:

I am experiencing intermittent keyboard repeat issues (e.g., typing "aaaaa"
instead of a single "a") after
  upgrading to Ubuntu 26.04.

This issue occurs during brief compositor micro-stutters under Wayland. My
keyboard repeat settings are
configured to a 300 ms delay and a 20 ms repeat interval. When the compositor
stalls momentarily, the key-
release event is delayed in transit. Because the delay is set to 300 ms, the
repeat timer fires before the
release event reaches the client, causing the key to repeat rapidly.

System logs (journalctl) frequently show the following warning
corresponding to the stutters:
"Key repeat discarded, Wayland compositor doesn't seem to be processing
events fast enough!"

    Environment Details:
    - OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute)
    - Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 (Intel Arrow Lake-P Arc Pro GPU)
    - Kernel Driver in use: i915 (with i915.enable_psr=0 active)
    - Session: GNOME Shell 50.1 on Wayland

    Additional Context:
I tested the exact same custom settings (300 ms delay, 20 ms interval) on a
ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 (Intel
Meteor Lake GPU) running Ubuntu 26.04 on Wayland. The Gen 5 laptop does not
experience this issue and has no
recent "Key repeat discarded" warnings in its logs. This indicates the issue
is specific to driver or
compositor performance optimizations on the newer Arrow Lake platform.
