Public bug reported:

I would like to report a bug related to the Night Light feature on
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

After installing Ubuntu 26.04 approximately one month ago, I started
experiencing random system freezes. During these freezes, the entire
desktop becomes completely unresponsive and no input devices respond. I
am also unable to switch to any TTY console using Ctrl+Alt+F1-F12, which
indicates that the system is fully locked up rather than just the GNOME
Shell crashing.

After multiple troubleshooting attempts and observations over several
weeks, I discovered that the issue only occurs when the Night Light
feature is enabled. Since disabling Night Light, the system has remained
stable and I have not encountered any additional freezes.

Hardware Information:

* Hardware Model: Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G6+ AHP
* Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 8845H with Radeon 780M Graphics
* Memory: 32 GB
* Graphics: AMD Radeon 780M Graphics
* Storage: 1 TB SSD

Software Information:

* Firmware Version: NLCN39WW
* Operating System: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
* GNOME Version: 50
* Windowing System: Wayland
* Kernel Version: Linux 7.0.0-22-generic

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Boot into Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.
2. Enable Night Light in GNOME Settings.
3. Continue using the system normally.
4. After some period of usage, the system may completely freeze.

Expected Result:

* Night Light should adjust the display color temperature without
affecting system stability.

Actual Result:

* The entire system freezes and becomes unresponsive.
* Keyboard and mouse input stop working.
* Switching to TTY consoles is not possible.
* A hard reboot is required to recover.

Additional Notes:

* The issue appears to be related specifically to Night Light.
* Disabling Night Light prevents the freezes from occurring.
* The system is running on Wayland with AMD Radeon 780M integrated graphics.

Please let me know if additional logs, kernel traces, or debugging
information are required.
