I have restarted several times since creating this report, so unfortunately the journals may no longer be relevant information.
I have noticed a potential correlation with using ptyxis as my terminal emulator. I was using vi in ptyxis and had several freezes in a short span. I have changed back to gnome-terminal and haven't noticed a similar freeze since. Perhaps this bug report should be put on hold, and I will do monitor and do some more testing with ptyxis. ?field.comment=I have restarted several times since creating this report, so unfortunately the journals may no longer be relevant information.
