Public bug reported:
It happened to me immediately after upgrading from Resolute to Stonking.
I thought the NVIDIA driver version could be the culprit (it was nvidia-
driver-595 at the moment) thus I upgraded to nvidia-driver-610-open, but
it didn't make difference.
The symptom: Cursor often not drawn in both GDM and gnome-shell and both
always crashed when I tried to move the cursor or click around. Using
only the keyboard and never trying the cursor would allow a successful
login and interactions on the gnome-shell, though.
Workaround: export `MUTTER_DEBUG_DISABLE_HW_CURSORS=1` in
/etc/environment
