Please try disabling extensions to see if any of them are influencing
the issue:
gnome-extensions list
gnome-extensions disable NAME
...
Since https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/work_items/6023 is
still open upstream, I think it would be sensible to keep tracking this
as bug 2000644.
