You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I had gnome-main-menu working in Feisty with gnome-2.18.0 but
gnome-2.18.1 introduced breakage.
When you attempt to add gnome-main-menu to the panel a dialog box
appears offering two options i.e:
"Main Menu" has quit unexpectedly
1) Don't reload
2) Reload
Clicking Reload just presents the dialog again.
** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
