OK...
So from what I understand, the mouse moves, but nothing responds... Does it 
happen before or after the screen that appears after you log in that says 
'loading the desktop' ... ? Did you notice any programs taking abnormal number 
of CPU usage? When this occurs, can you switch to a terminal (CTRL - F1) and 
kill nautilus and/or any other program freezing the computer? 

Also, twice in 6 months, this bug doesn't seems to be a huge problem,
but only a small problem happening only once every while, right?
