Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
After working flawlessly in earlier Feisty Betas, the ability to resume from hibernation stopped working close to Feisty release. It started working again sometimes but nowadays a resume never works. I get back into a black screen with a mousepointer displaying the "Thinking" mouse pointer. Every 15 seconds or so the pointer goes away and repositions itself in the middle of the screen. Is GDM constantly restarting? I don't know - because I find no way to troubleshoot it! I cannot access any other terminal (Ctrl + Alt + F#), and Ctrl + Alt + Backspace does nothing... If I press the power button on my laptop it will eventually shutdown (displaying some garbled lines of graphics in the top of the screen before going down all the way). First mentioned in forumthread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=415034 I will attach an output from Alt + SysRq + T (at least the kernel responds...). Please help me specify what else kind of information is needed to track this down. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Restore from sleep/hibernation no longer works - Regression since Feisty Beta - gdm hangs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
