I don't use any calendar function of evolution. I also turned off the alarms at 
all. 
What I use is only the mail functionality: I reach a simple IMAP mailbox with 
it. In several minutes it surely eats up the CPU, often when I give the focus 
to evolution. In my case not the data-server eats up the CPU but the process 
called evolution. A "rush" can hold from 1 minute up to 5 minutes .... This 
makes it unusable, so I move to Thunderbird. If you need some reproduction 
please notify me

My Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 7.04 - the Feisty Fawn
My evolution version in it is the current freshest: 2.10.1
