You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Everyone know that notification messages can be very helpful,
especially for new Ubuntu users, but there are many other Ubuntu users
that find notification messages somehow annoying.
Some notifications you can disable in program preferences (like in
rhythmbox), some in gconf-editor (like notify_fully_charged), but
unfortunately there are also many notifications that can't be disabled
at all :-( (like the one in NetworkManager that appears when you
successfully connect to wireless network).
I guess that there is some notification system in gnome (also I guess
that there is a little 'notification framework' which applications cat
use)... anyway it would be really great if there was a way to disable
all notifications at once.
And it would be outstanding if there was some kind of 'notification
manager' which would allow user to disable/enable every single
notification message in one place...
To sum up, user should be allowed to disable any notification message he
wishes to, but there are many notification messages in Ubuntu that can't
be disabled at all...
** Affects: notification-daemon (Ubuntu)
