I was able to remove the Invest applet by running "ps lax | grep
invest", then "kill (pid)" -- at that point I got the reload/no dialog
and chose no.  Unfortunately the Gnome Applications applet is still
disabled even after a full system shutdown and reboot.  Any hints on how
to get it to work again?
