Rejecting. Upstream doesn't plan to integrate it into the main product,
but it can be developed as a plugin. You should contact the developer
that began to work on it and learn if there's any progress. You can also
write a blueprint and try to gather some interest around it; if there's
existing code, it can form the basis.
